"The Konami brand is looking to enter the highly competitive Macau market to expand its recent slot product success in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, including the Philippines," David Punter, head of the region, told GGRAsia.
"We have more traction outside Macau at the moment. But Macau will be a bigger focus for us," he said.
Mr Punter is a sales, marketing and services officer for Australia and APAC, Konami Australia Pty Ltd.
"We are fully committed to the region," he said
The manager said, "It's really successful in the Philippines. We placed additional orders for two Singapore properties," at Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa. In Malaysia, he added, "Our machines are in second place" at Resorts World Genting.
In Asia-Pacific, "Bullush," "Fortune Mint," "Wild Envelope" and the sales president said, brandishing the names of the company's current top slot products.
Regarding Macau, referring to the Game Inspection Coordination Bureau, a Macau casino regulator, he said, "We've only had some products approved by the DICJ."
Including City of Dreams in Kotai, "We've introduced some products to some of the properties here."
"Over the next 12 months we expect Konami's presence in the [Macao] layer to continue to grow," Mr Punter said
"We were able to hit Fortune Mint on the floor, which is a great product that we showed last year," he said at G2E Asia.
