Casino investor Landing International Development confirmed to GGRAsia that three senior executives involved in starting a business at Jeju Shinhwa World Game Resort (pictured) in Jeju Island, South Korea, in February last year had left the group.
Albert Lim, who was senior vice president of resort operations at Landing Jeju Development, and Chris Bullock, who was vice president of casino operations at Landing Entertainment Korea, left the group between late 2018 and January. The two companies are subsidiaries of Landing International. 홀짝게임
A LinkedIn page named Chris Block indicates that a casino executive is currently working as the "regional president" of Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment, a U.S.-based tribal casino operator. Mohegan Gaming is one of the investors of a new casino resort called Inspire in Incheon, near the Korean capital of Seoul.
Last month, GGRAsia reported that Jay Lee Poh Yee left his role as Chief Operating Officer of Landing International in January. The company confirmed Lee's departure in a statement to us.
On Sunday, Landing International reported to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange a sharp drop to a loss of HK$715.5 million ($89.4 million) in 2018, compared with a profit of HK$555.1 million a year earlier. In fact, sales rose sharply in 2018 to nearly HK$2.1 billion from HK$840.2 million a year earlier.
In late August, the company reported that it had lost contact with its chairman, mainland Chinese businessman Yang Zhihui. Landing International confirmed in a filing in late November that the businessman had returned to work, saying he had been "supportive of the relevant departments of the People's Republic during his absence."
